Welcome!

We thought it was time for St. Lucians and other stakeholders to come, work and move forward together. But in order to do that, we all need to know what is actually happening in St. Lucia. So we are here to provide a service to the St. Lucia community, by providing up to date, relevant and objective news and information about St. Lucia Estuary, South Africa.

If anything happens in St. Lucia , many stories start to go around. We hope, through professional journalism, to separate fact from fiction, to bring you the objective truth without choosing sides. That is what journalism is all about. If you've heard anything and want to know what really happened, send us an email (TamlynHead@gmail.com) and we'll investigate what's actually going on, and provide our findings in an objective manner on this site. Make sure you subscribe to this blog by leaving your email address on the right of this page, so whenever a new news item is published, you get to know about it.

As an additional service, we offer a business directory, an agenda of activities organised in St. Lucia, as well as an up to date listing of employment and housing opportunities.

In other words, if you wanna know what's really happening in St. Lucia, this is the place to look at!

St Lucians standing together

As most readers of this site are aware, St Lucia News was created not only to report the goings-on in our town but also to help create a sense of community in St Lucia. We believe that this is achieved through publicising events organised by St Lucians & held in St Lucia and by recognising individuals' attempts at forging a community spirit within the borders of our beautiful town.

Extension to current Rhino Club benefits

Apparently KZN Wildlife is at a loss as to what to do with the 'Rhino Club'. The new scheme, which all Rhino Club members had been promised would replace the Rhino Club by 1st April, appears to have been delayed as all Rhino Club members received notice of an extension of current Rhino Card benefits to the end of June 2013. This was not issued as a special notice, it was merely mentioned in the most recent Rhino Club newsletter.

St Lucia bowls over opposition

Last weekend St Lucia Bowling Club beat clubs from Richard's Bay, Empangeni, Mtubatuba and Pongola in a regional inter-club competition. Each club entered one or more teams in the round-robin format competition and it was one of St Lucia's Teams which emerged victorious and claimed the 'Carla and Glynn Trevelyan Trophy'. We trust all St Lucians join us in congratulating St Lucia Bowling Club.
