Fun in the Sun – St Lucians Enjoy Annual Carnival

During an Easter Weekend of magnificent weather, St Lucians and visitors alike made the most of the fun and games at the town's annual Carnival.

Organised by the NG Gemeente Kerk in Mtubatuba in order to raise funds for, and awareness of, the church and held in the grounds of St Lucia's Conference Centre, the annual event allows St Lucians and visitors the chance to partake in fun and games, such as the water slide (pictured right),  'hamster ball' (below), jumping castles, as well as the opportunity to browse and buy locally crafted garments & jewellery. After an appetite has been worked up from the games and shopping, a variety of sweet and savoury snacks and meals can be purchased from one of the food and beverage stalls.
This year's carnival proved a success with clothing and jewellery stores attracting much attention from carnival visitors, whilst the children made the most of the jumping castle and other activities. Come lunch time, pancakes and vetkoek were enjoyed by all.

For a fun filled Easter Weekend in the sun, be sure to attend next year's carnival.
